In our old age, we are getting more aware of the environment, and in our latest development at Portland have wind turbines generating electricity, we have seriously insulated buildings, and even the hardwood decking on the pontoons is from managed forest sources (costing loads more!). We try to do our bit for good causes as well – we haven't got round to a Mission Statement yet, but seem to end up supporting many worthy causes anyway, and some of these are shown on the 'folk we support' page. All our marinas have been built or rebuilt by us, and there is a potted history for each marina showing the scrapes we get into during construction. And we've done it all before – with a former company Dean and Dyball, we rebuilt Shamrock Quay in Southampton; put in the marina (with housing and with a new yacht club building for the Royal Southampton YC) at Ocean Village; built from scratch Hythe Marina Village; and built Millbay Marina Village, Queen Anne's Battery and Dartside Quay, all in the West Country. We're trying to keep our prices sensible, this despite soaring costs all around us in this rather annoying recession, and we have held our prices yet again for 2011. We're always making changes to improve our service, sometimes with a little nudge or two from customers. Consider all this, with the free seawater and the free wind – now who could ask for more?
