  • PDF

United States yacht builder Lazzara Yachts has delivered the latest member of the LSX92 series. She is called "Algorythm" and was handed over at the end of 2011. Eight guests can be accommodated in four staterooms while four crew members see after the operation of the yacht and the needs of guests.

Speaking of guests, the Algorythm is open for charter since being delivered. This latest unit is different from the other LSX92's because of her extended sundeck. The open sundeck is sigificantly larger with the extra length. Additionally, there is a larger hardtop to provide shade. Algorythm is powered by four Volvo IPS with a top cruising speed of 28-knots.

Heesen_YN16465

The mating of the two structures happened late last year in December. YN 16465 is expected to be completed by June 2013. A quick look at some of the stand out features of the 65-meter, according to Heesen she will have a top speed of 27-knots with a range of 4,200 nautical miles. She'll have five gyro-stabilizers, a touch-and-go heli-pad, beach club, large swim platform, 6 cabin layout, main deck master and upper deck VIP as well as Forward gull-wing tender garage.

Naval Architecture has been done by Van Oossanen Naval Architects b.v. while the design has been penned by Omega Architects. Bannenberg and Rowell are on the interior design. Displacement at half load is around 560-tonnes with top fuel capacity around 90,000 LT. The engine package is put together by MTU with twin 20V 4000 M93L's. Spacious beam of 11.50-meters and draft of 3.10-meters ensure comfortable living and social spaces with the ability to enjoy the views of secluded and far flung nooks and coves around the world.

‘Our very own Drizzle’: New Feadship launched at De Vries

  • PDF
Feadship-Drizzle-325 January 2012. Feadship has launched the 67.27m (220’8”) Drizzle at the Koninklijke De Vries Scheepsbouw yard in Aalsmeer, the Netherlands. She has been created for clients who were inspired by the 2005 Feadship Twizzle, of which they were the second owners and had renamed Drizzle. Although taken by the World Superyacht Award winning vessel, they decided to create their very own Drizzle, entirely custom-built to their specific preferences. The result is an exceptional yacht almost 12 metres longer and proportionally wider, higher and deeper, that still preserves the beauty of the original 55m De Voogt design.

Drizzle’s exterior offers a superior blend of classic and modern, with a traditional low profile and contemporary feel. “Taking Twizzle as the design template, it was a major challenge to retain her classic light lines while extending the vessel by over 20 per cent,” says Ruud Bakker from Feadship De Voogt Naval Architects. “We also added further refinements in terms of functionality, such as the central staircase that facilitates both guest and crew access to the sun deck. Drizzle contains the very latest systems and technologies, a reflection of how Feadship is consistently moving forward on every level.”

Redman Whiteley Dixon created a contemporary, warm and rich interior that again takes Twizzle as a reference point before being tailored to the principals’ bespoke taste. "Only months after handover of Twizzle to the new owners, we were discussing the perfect larger version", says Henk de Vries, "and within months we had defined the new version in detail”. “Drizzle is a fine example of how sophisticated owners have experienced the true difference a Feadship can make in every sense of the word quality,” explains Francis Vermeer, head of marketing at Feadship. The project manager for Drizzle was Steve Jacover, who has built several other Feadships over the past two decades. “It was amazing to see how many staff members are still at the yard from previous builds with which I have been involved. As well as highlighting the rich experience at the Feadship yards, it gives me as project manager a complete sense of security that everything will be finished to perfection. And it was.”

The interior feels like a genuine home-from-home and will have a broad appeal while being entirely unique. Crew quarters are taken to an exceptional quality level even by Feadship’s industry-leading standards. “This reflects the owner’s concern for crew welfare and a wish that their facilities should be finished to the highest possible standard,” says Drizzle’s Captain James Duggan. “Such attention to detail will be greatly appreciated and respected by the crew. Having been at De Vries for a previous build and sailed on two of their yachts, including Twizzle, my experience is that Feadship consistently delivers a fantastic product, which is exactly what we have now. It is a pleasure to work with the entire team at the De Vries yard, all of whom clearly take enormous pride and pleasure in their work. Drizzle is a credit to them and the entire Feadship experience.”
