The Safe Patients Systems telemedicine unit is user-friendly, requiring minimal training, and utilises state of the art
technology. The Safe Triage System, developed by medical professionals for use in air ambulance helicopters, has
been customised specifically to OMI specifications for use on superyachts; the device was simplified to be used by
non medical professionals.

Product features
• One touch screen prompts; transmission of vital signs data is ‘live’ in a secure encrypted form to a web server
for immediate onward transmission to The First Call Medical Advice Service.
• Transmission of data, including 12 lead ecg, oxygen saturation levels, respiratory rate, blood glucose, blood
pressure & pulse is achieved by using a simple touch screen interface. The system is linked wirelessly
(Bluetooth) to patient monitoring devices; the unit then transmits the data via the yacht’s wifi and satellite to
The First Call.
• The Unit captures and relays still & video images of the patient and incident scene to further support clinical
decision-making. With built in GPS, photos are tagged for time and location when transmitted.
• The Unit provides a wide range of data for first aid & clinical decision support, including drug administration,
but it is the doctors at The First Call who make the decisions on what to do, not the technology
• Packaged in a rugged tablet, which features an ingress protection rating of 67 (IP67), meaning it’s sealed against
dust and has been water immersion tested for 30 minutes at a depth of one metre.
• 6 hour battery life, 2 batteries provided and plug-in recharger.
