First thing for you to understand is that there are yachts all over the globe. You don't have to be restricted by flying out to the yachting hotspots as it maybe just as easy to get a job straight from home. All it takes is a little bit of home work and you may just find that the yachting industry in your home country maybe exactly what your looking for. It's also a great way to get a little bit of prior experience before you make the big jump. You need to understand that most yachts tend to follow the sun, so the big season is normally found in the Northern Hemisphere’s summer in the Mediterranean, with yacht’s arriving and or beginning to look for crew, from late March every year. Most of the yachts can be found in the south of France from Marseille all the way thru to San Remo Italy. Again this is open to other possibilities like Palma or Barcelona in Spain, Genoa or the yards in Livorno & Viareggio in Italy. The alternate to this season, is the winter months where a number of yachts will head for Florida, Bahamas or the Caribbean. Yachts tend to start making their way over to the USA and Caribbean once the hurricane season is over, to move away from the cold winter to offer owners & guests a chance to catch some Caribbean sun. It’s at this point, yachts will look for crew for the upcoming Fort Lauderdale boat show and busy the months leading up to Christmas and New Years Eve. There is also a possibility to pick up work in the Caribbean during the winter, but this normally happens after Christmas and NYE.
